The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Prineville District Deschutes Field Office, has published the final Determination of National Environmental Policy Act Adequacy (DNA) for non-motorized recreation activities within the Cline Buttes Recreation Area. The proposed action in the DNA includes the designation, construction, and closure of hiking, equestrian, and mountain bike trails in the Cline Buttes Recreation Area and the establishment of the Buttes East trailhead parking area (see "Maps" tab to the left).
The actions described in the DNA are fully analyzed in the Cline Buttes Recreation Area Plan and Environmental Assessment (September 2009) DOI-BLM-ORWA-P000-2006-0014-EA and can be accessed on ePlanning: https://eplanning.blm.gov/eplanning-ui/project/55458/570. In 2010 the BLM issued a Decision Record authorizing the proposed action for transportation and recreation management activities as described in the Environmental Assessment (Section 2.2, pages 24-39). A DNA confirms that an action is adequately analyzed in an existing environmental review document and is in conformance with the land use plan.
Detailed maps showing the proposed action can be found in the body of the DNA or at the "Maps" tab to the left.
